Weekend- Why did you have to go??

Hello!!! Hope everyone had an awesome weekend!!!!

Starting off Friday I was able to spend time with my wonderful friend, Wendy, as I mentioned before… What a rocker chick she is. She has an image to uphold you know!! :o)

I have an absolutely hilarious story to go along with this evening. I’m not quite sure though whether I’d be able to say it was hilarious if I was on the other side of the coin. Seriously, about minutes before I arrived at her house, she was trying to light candles to make the house smell good and she set her hair on fire. She bent over a little too far when lighting them and you know the rest, haha. I’m trying really hard not to laugh while writing this, because having her retell the story was absolutely hysterical, and I seriously wish I would have showed up at the house a few seconds earlier. I know that sounds horrible, but that so would have been America’s Funniest Home Videos material, lol. Nevertheless her hair is still intact and all was well as we opened the window to air the place out! Ha!

Aside from that we had a wonderful time watching…

and eating wonderful food...

Yummy Baked Ziti

and to die for chocolate chip cookies

I tell you, photobucket is God's gift to us bloggers, haha!!! These pictures don't do her tasty dish and cookies justice :o) It was such a wonderful evening, and I hope I can catch her again when she's in town!!!

Saturday was nothing blog worthy, I bummed around and had some plans Saturday night that fell through..... It felt kind of like a wasteful day, but I guess we need those lazy days every now and then, right??

Sunday, on the other hand, was a fantastic day. It was a wonderful day for an outdoor Art Festival and my mom, sister, and I did just that!

Not a cloud in the sky...

and it was packed...

It doesn't get much better than that! And then we had our fill of yummy mexican food while at the Art Festival. This is my sweet Mom and I...

Then after that we walked around some and of course, couldn't pass this up, haha :o) I didn't include any pictures of me actually sitting there while he was doing this, because I just looked goofy, but here's the artist at work and the finished product, ha!!

And here you have it. Can you see the resemblance??? haha...

Overall, it was a great weekend with gorgeous weather and so nice to be outside and we just had a wonderful time...

Then of course we wouldn't miss...

The Grammys!

What did you all think? Can you say drama? Poor Chris Brown and Rihanna. Overall, I was very impressed and thought it was a great show.

So, there you have it. That's my weekend in a nutshell. Tell me about yours :o)

P.S.

Also, my sister's school VHS (Villages Charter High School) is one of 25 “nationwide” finalists in the Maxpreps National Guard Spirit Challenge Video Contest. It is a contest for all high schools to show their school’s spirit. The winner will be based on voting only so we need all support we can get. Click the link to get to the website, register, and vote once per day through March 31 and help VHS win a $5000 prize for the athletic department. GO BUFFALO!

Thank you in advance for doing this, if you take the time. Appreciate it!!!

TGIF=Fabulous weekend!

First off, let me say that I'm sooooo glad this weekend it's going to warm up for us Floridians!!! I give props to the people up north, don't know how you do it. It has been in the freezing temperatures down here. CRAZY!! I'll stick with the 70 to 80 degree weather, thank you :o)

Don't know if you have ever heard of this band:

They are amazing....check out their website @ www.fireflightrock.com. Sorry I couldn't get the picture any bigger. They are formed and based out of Eustis, FL, outside of Leesburg, where I live, and are members of the church I used to attend. God has done amazing things in and through this band and has really opened up doors of GREAT opportunity for them and they are signed and constantly are traveling all over the country. So I was thrilled when Wendy (the girl on the far left in the picture and her husband is the first guy on the right towards the middle) e-mailed me to let me know they were in town for a bit and wanted to see if we could get together. Of course I said YES. She is such a dear friend of mine. So tonight we're going to have a chick flick night and it will be so great to catch up with her. If you would, please keep this band in your prayers as they continue to seek God and be obedient to the calling placed on their lives.

Random facts on this terrific Thursday!

I've seen this on many other blogs and thought I'd give it a shot. Here's 25 random facts you didn't know about me:

1. I’ve always wanted to go on a mission’s trip. That’s always been on my heart and I truly believe I will be able to one day.

2. Don’t laugh but I have a Chihuahua named Taco, lol. It was around that time Taco bell came out with the Chihuahua in their commercials, obviously. The poor dog, I’m sure he’d rather remain nameless, ha :o)

3. Back in 2005 I flew out to California to meet a pen pal that I had ever since 3rd grade. What an experience, but sadly we have lost touch since then. Reason and season for everything I guess!

4. I still live in the same city (Leesburg, FL) where I was born and raised…. (my long 24 years of existence that is, ha)

5. Ummm, sad to say but I’ve been in more car accidents then I care to recall…. Drive with me at your own risk! JK! Just remember to wear the seatbelt!

6. I really wish I had a greater love and passion for sports, and maybe that’s because I have no athletic ability whatsoever, good thing you don’t need it to watch sports, haha. But nonetheless this is my wish, lol.

7. I’ve never gotten a speeding ticket. (Guess I made up for that with my accidents.) Watch, I totally just messed myself up. This will be the big news of the day tomorrow, you just wait and see, ha!

8. I’m the middle child and would all you other middle children agree that we get the short end of the stick?

9. This is kind of random (which I guess this is the whole purpose of this thing, ha) but my pet peeve is when you’re driving along and the person in front of you has their blinker on to turn and then they leave it on for the next 10 miles until they do turn.

10. I’m notorious for getting things out and not putting it back in their rightful place and also tend to leave the dishes in the sink… I’m working on this :o)

11. My first job was Publix Grocery Store (where shopping and working is always a pleasure :o)), and now I’m at a law office where I’ve been at going on six years. Needless to say, I’ve moved on up in the world!

12. I love to people watch. Put me somewhere where there’s people and I’ll be entertained.

13. Only if you had a hidden camera you’d find that I love to sing in the car or anywhere when I’m by myself (you would sooooooo get a laugh out of that).

14. I’m a homebody, and also trying to work on that, it’s always nice to get out there and meet and greet :o)

15. In first grade on my report card I got F, F, D, and totally oblivious asked my brother if those were good grades, bless my heart. Come on now, clearly the teacher did not like me. And happy to report that I did go on to graduate high school with good grades I might add, Mrs. Stevenson.

16. I love to read so much. When I’m in a book I take myself to another place, it’s a nice escape from reality, until it comes crushing back down on you, haha!

17. Sushi is my ALL TIME, and I mean ALL TIME favorite food!!! And the funny thing is I never used to like it. Goes to show, don’t knock something till you try it, because I’m hooked for life.

18. Before I leave this earth, I kid you not, I will go skydiving. Anyone care to partake in this adventure with me??

19. I get to be in my first wedding this summer as a Bridesmaid for my wonderful and awesome friend Monica.

20. I’m addicted to Soda. Is there a support group for this??

21. My favorite TV show is Law & Order: SVU. Those people can kick some butt. The content of the story lines at times can be disheartening, but phenomenal acting.

22. I will be getting braces for the third time this month, yes, count that, three times. I might want to contact Guinness Book of World records, this might be of some interest to them, haha! And we’ll just wait and see if pictures end up in the bloggy world. I know the suspense will be killing you :o)

23. I have a tendency to want to save the world, so I kind of have a knack for stretching myself thin at times.

24. I’m learning each day to love myself (in a healthy way, haha) and be comfortable in my own skin.

25. Philippians 4:13 is on my side (my favorite verse).

So, there you have it. Hope you enjoyed learning a little more about me. Let it be known that it's not as easy as it seems to do this, haha :o) I thoroughly enjoyed my Wednesday night break from school and spent time with the family. I actually got to catch American Idol last night, can we say drama??? I love this part of the show when they are in Hollywood and then it starts getting into the good stuff.

It's almost Friday, YAY!!! :o) This week hasn't really been picture worthy, but I have a fun weekend planned, so there will definitely be some coming!!

Wonderful Wednesday!

Thank you so much everyone for your encouragement yesterday! I appreciate it and it was a very peaceful day spent in prayer, fasting, and seeking him :o)

I made sure as often as I thought of it to go over the scripture that I have been meditating over and memorizing. There's so much power in the word, and sometimes we forget just how much. We have so much authority then we often tend to realize. I'm not sure, and some of you might frequent Beth Moore's blog, and if you haven't, you should (www.livingproofministries.blogspot.com). She challenged us at the beginning of the year to commit to learning two scriptures a month, the 1st and the 15th of each month she blogs pertaining to this and we all share the scriptures we are memorizing for that period of time. It's been really great for me, because this is also an area in which I've been feeling convicted. It's so important to know and understand what the word says about our circumstances and most importantly, about us. It's all right there in the fine print, if we would just take that time to read it and soak it in :o) I encourage you to go over to her blog and check it out, it's not to late to join in, and become a Siesta while you're at it. It's such a wonderful community over there.

And can I just say that yesterday was such a pretty day compared to the rainy day before. One of those days I loved having a window to sit by at work. It's very cold for Florida right now, high is only in the 50's today, cold for us Floridians, haha!!!! Bring on the spring and summer :o) I was supposed to go to the gym this morning, but nevertheless I opted to stay in my warm bed!

As you can see I hold Wednesday dear to my heart, lol. It's the only day out of the week that I have to myself and no school, and feel like I can take a breath. Does anyone else enjoy their Wednesdays as much as I do?? haha!!

Good Morning!

Yesterday was a VERY rainy day. It was coming down consistently the whole day. On my way to and from school yesterday I passed three major accidents. The third accident was one of those that you just thought to yourself, it would take a miracle of God for those people to have survived. It's just my instant reaction to start praying for the situation and the people involved when I come across an accident. My heart goes out to anyone I may see involved in an accident because I know all too well the feeling because back a few years ago I was involved in a serious accident where I had to be airlifted to an Orlando hospital. And I know the weather couldn't have helped yesterday. So I'm really praying that everyone involved in all the accidents are okay.

Also, if you would, I ask that you please be praying for me today. I'm going to be fasting and praying for some certain areas in which I have specific needs. Please just pray that all distractions will be set aside and that I will have a direct connection with him today and that I will be able to hear him clearly. Thank you :0)

Will be away from the bloggy world for the rest of the day. Have a GREAT day and talk with you tomorrow!!!

Thankfulness and Sweet Pinkness!

So we're back at Monday and the vicious cycle continues. I'm truly, truly trying to find the joys of Monday. I'm thankful that I have another Monday to wake up to, I'm glad I have a job to go to, thankful to have a school to go to this Monday evening to further my education in a career that will allow me to be successful, and for food in my stomach, money in the bank (may not be much, but nonetheless, it's money, haha), a roof over my head, but most of all, thankful that God's mercies are new every morning, and it's a new week to get things right. And we may not always get things right, but he loves us anyway. Thank goodness for that! What are you thankful for this Monday? :)

As I said, I went to a baby shower this weekend for my sweet friend Carina, and just wanted to share a few pictures :)

Yummy food!!!

Now, how precious is that cake???

Tis I with the glowing pregnant one :)

About ready to pop!!

Opening gifts! She got soo much neat stuff!

It was such a sweet time and so glad I was able to share in the day with her. I know her little girl is going to be a beauty!

And how about that game!!

I was actually rooting for the Cardinals. I always love to go for the underdogs. But it was a very good game and oh so close! Both teams played such a GREAT game. And I was soooo sad to have missed Jennifer Hudson sing :( Heard she did an amazing job. Went over to my brother and sister-in-law's house. They had a bunch of people over. So it was a good time with great food and time with family and friends.

Hope everyone had a great weekend! Happy Monday and try to find the joy in today :o)

Cleanliness is next to Godliness!

Where is Mr. Clean when you need him???? Don't you just wish that the bathrooms(most of all) could just stay clean and that you never had to take another mop, brush, or scrubber to it again?? I had to clean our bathroom yesterday and as I'm sitting here typing the phrase "Cleanliness is next to Godliness" comes to mind. Isn't that exactly how it is with us as Christians? Imagine how if we weren't cleaned out daily how rusty our hearts would get, how are thoughts would stray from the truth, and if we didn't take a mop, brush or scrubber to our lives each day, what a mess we would be.

Right now, my car is a mess, my room is a mess (at least the bathroom is clean, ha), and I never let it get like that, and don't know how or why I did. Everything is so discombobulated (my favorite word, don't you just love it?? haha). Go on, just see how many times you can use the word discombobulated today, haha! I know you're probably laughing, but don't you have a word that you just absolutely love? haha! And discombobulated definitely describes me right now, lol! I think God allows our lives to be somewhat of a mess at times, because then it allows our hearts and eyes to be opened up to the fact that he alone truly brings peace, order in our lives, and puts everything back in it's right place.

So if your life is feeling somewhat of a mess right now and chaotic, just know that he hears your prayers for cleanliness :o)

Have a great Superbowl Sunday!!
