Empty and Beautiful

EMPTY AND BEAUTIFUL:

My past won't stop haunting me
In this prison there's a fight between
Who I am and who I used to be

This thorn in my side is a grace
For because of it the flesh and blood of God
Was offered in my place, my place

You fought the fight in me
You chased me down and finished the race
I was blind but now I see
Jesus You kept the faith in me

Where did my best friends go?
In my defense they disappeared
Just like Your friends did to You, oh Lord

But You were there, You gave me strength
So this little one might come to know
The glory of Your name, Your name

You fought the fight in me
You chased me down and finished the race
I was blind but now I see
Jesus You kept the faith in me

Awaiting, set apart like incense to Your heart
A libation I'm pouring out
Empty and beautiful, beautiful, beautiful

You fought the fight in me
You chased me down and finished the race
I was blind but now I see
Jesus You kept the faith in me

You fought the fight in me
You chased me down and finished the race
I was blind but now I see
Jesus You kept the faith in me
Jesus You kept the faith in me
Savior, You kept the faith in me

Okay, I have heard this new song by Matt Maher alot but for some reason yesterday on my way to school I heard it again and it hit me differently and I just started bawling (good thing my windows are tinted, haha). Isn't it awesome that he never loses faith in us, even at those times when we lose faith in ourselves. And not only that, but he's already gone ahead of us and already fought the fight, how awesome is that? It just brought me alot of peace hearing this yesterday, and so great to know he is constantly persuing us and chasing after us. If there's anything you're struggling with, any circumstance that you might be going through, remember that Jesus hasn't lost faith and he's fighting your fight.

Also, wanted to introduce you to my friend who I work real closely with...

This is Miss Nevaeh (Heaven spelled backwords):

Friends for life :)

Obviously I took this picture when no one was looking, lol. She keeps me company at my desk and I talk to her, but not when anyone is around, they would send me to the loony house. She never talks back but oh well.... haha!! :)

Do any of you have those places outside the four walls where you lay your head at night that you call your home away from home??? These would be mine...

This is where I've been receptionist for going on six years. I work with a GREAT group of people. Never a dull moment in the world of law!

This is what's going on across the street from the office. They are putting in a retention pond. I really hope they put in a nice sitting area. That would be great to hop across the street and have lunch and read a good book!

This is where I spend three nights out of the week and what's going to give me the money, ha. Just start calling me Miss Court Reporter!! :)

What's your home away from home??

Love all the blog friends I've made, keep the comments coming :)

Our home away from home is our church. I've been the church secretary for over 14 years here. Kelly's dad is our pastor. When my kids were young, they used to go to school right across the street from the church. After school they'd come over and while they waited for me to get done, they'd go to the sanctuary and play church (one would pretend to be the preacher and one the song leader) or have (under the pew) races. I love that we are so comfortable within our church walls!

Lauren,
I'm so happy you found my blog and now here I am on yours. I am jealous of your career!! I've always wanted to go to law school! A man I used to teach with is going on trial soon (well actually been moved to may) and I am dying to be in the court room! Someone said I should be a court reporter. I said I could never do that...I would want to ask questions and would never be able to keep my mouth shut! I look forward to keeping up with your blog!

My home way from home is an elementary school. I'm a preschool teacher. I have 20 4 year old children by day and one furry child by night.

My home away from home is an office where I am an office and accounts manager. I love it.
AND to answer your question - Memphis is not the best place to live. There are definitely worse places but it's no prize. I actually live in a suburb of Memphis called Bartlett, but all the suburbs are very affected by Memphis still. It is terrible. Nashville on the other hand is WONDERFUL. Love it! I usually go there 3-4 times a year!

I just gotta tell you that looking at the pictures of where you live makes me feel warm. It's been so cold here the last few days...and the palm trees in your pics are refreshing!

Little Miss Neveah is hilarious!

My home away from home used be the real estate office...until I had a kid...and people decided to stop buying houses. :) Now my home away from home is...my bathtub? Does that count? :)
