Silence for Cohen

I’m sure many of you are aware of sweet baby Cohen’s story and if you are not, read Cohen’s story here.

I have read Megan’s blog for quite sometime now and she and her family are precious! They definitely will be needing prayers tomorrow. Here’s the information on the blogging day of silence for Cohen:

What: Moment of Silence for Cohen

When: Thursday July 1st from midnight to 11:59 pm.

How: Bloggers participating will post the Cohen banner (above) or simply post Cohen’s name in large letters on their blog.

Why: July 1st Megan and Brent will be holding Cohen’s memorial service. The moment of silence is an opportunity for Megan’s blog community to stand behind her and support her on this difficult day. Linking up will give Megan a chance to see the support at a glance.

You can link up here tomorrow if you are participating!

I know they will be so blessed by the support!!!!

Waiting!

I’m still feeling like crud and at work today, and basically just going to try to survive the day!

This month marked 7 years at the law office I work at as a receptionist. I seriously NEVER thought I’d be here this long. I often wonder why God has me here, and why for so long. Granted I couldn’t be at a better and more supportive job and I know it’s where I’m supposed to be while I finish up school. And ultimately can’t move on to bigger and better things until that’s accomplished.

I’ll come straight out and say it’s not the most fulfilling job in the world. It’s very mundane and I find myself daily frustrated about this. And at times it affects my job performance and my discontentment can roar its ugly head. I feel like this season of my life has lasted way longer than I ever wanted or anticipated. But it’s where God has me at this specific moment in time, and in my heart I know I should be okay with that.

But it’s hard in any season of waiting, whatever the case maybe.. whether it be waiting on that husband, waiting on a child, waiting for a better job… the wait is just hard.

Isaiah 40:31
Yet those who wait for the LORD Will gain new strength; They will mount up with wings like eagles, They will run and not get tired, They will walk and not become weary.

This scripture is perfect for people who are in a period of waiting. It’s a time when we are not weakened but we are strengthened and should be a time of anticipation and not a time of reflection of where we have yet to be and what we have yet to accomplish.

I think another struggle in the area of waiting is the fact that some people’s wait is shorter than our own. Has God forgotten about me? Are they more deserving than me? Does God love them more than me? These are the questions that start running around in our heads and the answer to each of them would be a big NO!

Ecclesiastes 3:1
To everything there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven:

Chew on that scripture for a minute. There’s a lot of hope it can bring during any season of life you might be going through.

I think I really just needed to write this out for myself. And it just came to me as I sat down to begin another work day during this season of my life where my heart is desperately wanting something more.

And maybe your heart is today as well. Are you happy with where you’re at right now? Is there something you’re waiting on? Share with me and maybe we can encourage each other!

Home sick and giveaway winner!

Well, I didn't go into work today. I'm sitting in my bed right now watching the Golden Girls, haha!! And seriously love Regis & Kelly. Taylor Lautner was on there. You Twilight fans ready for Eclipse? And Michael Vartan was on as well. Did any of you watch the TV show Alias?

So what's your favorite daytime television show?

I have the best co-workers in the world. One of them called me to see if I needed anything because she knew my parents were out of town. Sooo sweet!!!! I'm hoping the meds will kick in soon and I'll be feeling better!!!

So I'm here with the giveaway winner and the lucky person is Jess. Congrats, girl! I'll get in touch with you so you can be in touch with Jennifer to get your sign!!!

And speaking of signs, I received mine on Friday and it's already displayed in my bedroom.

Thank you, Jennifer. Love it and you did a wonderful job!!!!

Have a great Monday!!

My weekend and don't forget about giveaway!

So like I said, Friday night my Mom and I went to the benefit for our sweet friend Kay who passed away from cancer. All the proceeds went to the American Cancer Society. We weren't able to stay for long because my Mom needed to get home so she could pack for her Costa Rica trip she left for on Saturday!

The location at the polo fields where it was held, and this is also where my brother and his wife's wedding was back in 2005 :)

The sweet memory book her co-workers, including my Mom, put together. It was so sweet and turned out great!

The entertainment!

Yummy food. They grilled hamburgers and hot dogs!

The polo fields where many many polo matches are held. I have yet to have gone to one but would love to!

Saturday I knocked a good majority of my list out of things I needed to get done and ran a whole bunch of errands. Then I meet my friend Jill for lunch at Panera Bread (of which I didn't get any pics, so sad). Then I came home and watched the World Cup.

Was really bummed USA didn't win but they sure did put up a good fight. Let it be known that I only played one year of soccer in high school and pretty sure all the World Cup players have played since they were in diapers. Needless to say, never made it to the World Cup, ha!

And pretty much Saturday was a low-key night.

Well, about Thursday I kind of felt my throat not feeling well, and Friday it got worse, I kind of sucked it up on Saturday, and then this morning I couldn't stand it and went to the walk-in clinic to get some medicine.

Vitals all good, ha!

I am not dramatic or anything, ha!

So a very sore throat and ear infection :(

Then I went to Walgreens and filled my prescription and ended up walking out with a whole bunch of stuff. Isn't that how it always ends up? ha! And got an icee to soothe my throat.

I love the coke flavor. What's your favorite?

And pretty much today is another low-key day. Hopefully these meds will start kicking in and I'll feel better.

Wanted to remind you to enter my giveway if you haven't already. Have until tonight and I'll announce the winner tomorrow!

Some randoms for you on this Friday!!

I have some randomness going on in my head, so here ya go…

I have a pretty low key weekend this weekend. I got my list pad ready to make a list for stuff I need to get done tomorrow!

So probably going to unplug for the day so I can get it all done.

Tonight I am going with my mom to a benefit to honor our family friend that passed away from cancer almost a month ago. It’s actually a co-worker of my Mom’s but we knew her for years. It was planned before she passed away but she left this earth sooner than expected and so of course they’re still going to go ahead with it. It’s taking place at one of our local polo fields. There will be food and entertainment. It will be a nice time of coming together and remembering her and helping the family financially.

My parents leave for Costa Rica tomorrow for a whole week.

NOT FAIR. No kids aloud, ha!

Did you know today is take your dog to work day? I heard it on the radio coming into work this morning. Doggone, wish I would have known, ha! Would have TOTALLY brought my dog in with me, LOL!

Go by Danielle’s blog and read her latest post. It’s 6 months till Christmas ya’ll!!

Can you believe it??? I love the holiday season, but no one loves it more than her, ha!

So this morning, I put my credit card in a zip lock bag, filled it with water, and stuck it in the freezer to freeze, Bwahaha!!! Let’s see if this method works to keeping my debt down. I’ll keep you updated!!

I really am ready for the Fourth of July holiday!!

It’s one of my favorite holidays!!! Nothing but pool fun, family and friends, and good food…. One of the many holidays that truly makes me so thankful!!!

And don’t forget about my giveaway, you have until Sunday evening to enter!!

Lame, but this is all I can really think of at the moment ,haha!!

Hope everyone has a great summer weekend planned!!

Giveaway time!!!!

So, back on Tuesday I posted about Jennifer's etsy shop. Well, I haven't done a giveaway in a long time and I thought no better time and it's going towards a wonderful cause. If you've ever been a part of an adoption process you know how expensive it can get. So I'm happy to contribute to this worthwhile cause.

I'm going to give one of you lucky readers a chance to win one of Jennifer's talented pieces from her etsy shop.

Again, this is the one that I had ordered. This is talent people.

So what do you have to do?

All you simply have to do is go to Jennifer's etsy shop and/or go by her Facebook page for Show Me a Sign and come back here telling me what piece is your favorite and the one you'd like to win. On her FB page you will also see where crackle frames are an option. Also, Jennifer does custom made orders, so if you had something else in mind, she can accomodate.

You have until Sunday evening to enter the giveaway and the winner will be picked then by the random number interger thingy.

So excited!!

Good luck!!!!

Look Whos Kickin!

So yesterday evening we went to the 4D ultrasound of my niece, MacKenzie Grace, who is to make her entrance into the world in August.

We all piled into the car…

Big sister!

How cute is the name???

Mommy and adorable sister!!

And here’s MacKenzie!

Let’s get a closer look!

MacKenzie had an audience, ha!

She was pretty mellow. Not extremely active and was being camera shy!

The lights were off in the room and the flash on my camera didn’t work very well!

If you can tell, kind of looks like she’s smiling in this picture!

Funny, because now it looks like she’s pouting in this picture, ha!

They got about 60 different shots of the sweet girl and they got a video to keep!! It was a lot of fun and so glad we could all be there. It was so neat to see all her features. She has the cutest button nose, prettiest lips, and the sweetest cheeks. We can’t wait to meet her!

Then after we left the ultrasound we went to Outback!

It was a great night. Aunt LuLu will see you soon MacKenzie!!!

Look out tomorrow. A giveaway is coming your way!!!

"Believe"

The word "believe" for the longest time has been my montra that I live by. To me, anything can happen when you just believe.

I even have a tattoo on my foot!

So, when I found out Jennifer opened up her own etsy shop making signs, I knew exactly what I wanted on it.

She sent me a picture yesterday of how it turned out, and I LOVE it!!

She offers so much more, so I encourage you to check out her etsy shop, Show Me A Sign. She's so creative and talented and know you'll find something you like. Not to mention she's great to work with and fast and efficient. She and her husband have been called to adoption and they are trying to raise money for the whole process!!

For me, it hits home because adoption will be in my future and I think it's a beautiful thing!!

So if you felt led, would you think about blessing this sweet couple and placing an order that will bring them closer to bringing their precious child home????

Thank you so much!!! Now go place that order!!! :)

Dolphins and massages make for a great weekend!

So wanted to share with ya’ll the rest of my dolphin experience and show you pictures from the rest of the weekend!!

First off, if you are in Florida or ever in the Orlando, Florida area, you have got to visit Discovery Cove. It’s so worth every penny. They treat you like VIP. All the food is complementary (it should be for the price you pay, haha) and the park is just so beautiful and neat. My Mom so enjoyed herself and kept telling me over and over again thank you. It was a great day! Enjoy the pictures!!

We're here!!!

When we got there we had to have photo ID tags made!

This is the complementary photo they took of us when we got there!!

Everything including the scenery was just beautiful!!

Oh, which way to go??

I think we'll head to get some breakfast!

The beach area where the dolphin swims are held!

My sweet Momma!

Me!

Dolphin swims already in progress!!

Pretty flower! The greenery around the park was just gorgeous!!

Before our dolphin swim we enjoyed swimming in the lazy river they had there. The water was so warm and felt wonderful!!!!

Mom and I before the dolphin swim!!

This is the Seahorse Cabana where our group had to meet before the dolphin swim and watch a video and all that.

Then it was time for our dolphin swim. It did not disappoint. So much fun. I shared some pictures on my Saturday post. So check them out!!

After our swim we got some lunch!! All the food they had to offer was delicious!!

And there was some entertainment!!

And pretty soon it started raining cats and dogs and had to stay under shelter because it was thundering and lightening really bad. And this is what happens when you can't do anything else, ha!

Then after the rain and thunder let up we got the go ahead to resume our activities and chilled out some more in the warm lazy river water!

There's an area where you can snorkel and see all the pretty fish and manta rays!! We opted out of that because the water was so doggone cold in that area and especially after it rained! But was so neat to see!

Then our last stop was the Bird Aviary!

So many incredible birds. Here's some of my favorites. It was neat!

By this time it was around 3:30pm and we decided to call it a day. The weather was overcast, we were wet and cold and we got to do everything we wanted to do! This was a picture I got of the ceiling of the entrance to the park as we were leaving.

It was the perfect day!!

Then Saturday the goodness continued! My BFF Melissa treated me to a one hour massage!!!!

Out of this world pure bliss!! We had lunch and was able to spend the afternoon with her!!

Before the massage we were able to sit in the hot tub for awhile outside to relax our muscles. It was so nice and relaxing and the scenery was nice!

They had drinks waiting for us!!

Gotta love Florida palm trees!

And then after our massages Melissa treated me to a Sonic Cherry Limeade.

That's what I call a true friend :)

The weekend couldn't be getting any better!!!! :)

I can't believe it but I barely got any pictures on Sunday, Father's Day! I went to church with my Mom and her hubby and then we all went over to their house and hung out by the pool and ordered pizza. It was a nice and lazy Sunday filled with family and outdoor fun!!

I did get a picture of the cheesecake we picked up from the Cheescake Factory for dessert after lunch!!! YUMMMM!!!!

Oh, I almost forgot. My stepsister Christy and I made a quick trip to the mall yesterday afternoon to use up my H&M giftcard that was burning a hole in my pocket. It was fun and found this cute find among some others!!

Hope everyone had a great weekend and that all the Father's in your life had a great day!!! :)
