At birth I was diagnosed with Turner Syndrome. It occurs in very few women. It results in a missing or incomplete sex chromosome. In most cases (in my case) it causes ovarian failure and infertility. So the doctors say I will never be able to have children.
I’m so drawn to infertility and adoption/foster stories because I know this will be in my future. I would love to be a mother someday. And so love hearing about God bringing children to people that have prayed and longed for it, for so long and pray for those who are still in waiting.
I know whose report I’ll believe and I know God has the final say as to how I start my family someday. Have to find that husband first, ha! Of course it’s easy to think, will I ever find a husband someday when I can’t give him kids? But I have to take that thought captive and know that’s a lie from the enemy.
So as you can imagine, I was extremely blessed by Amy’s story. Please click on the link. No doubt you’ll be blessed too. Please pray for her and her husband on this journey.
These are two other stories I’ve loved following . You’ll find them here and here. Just click the links. Amazing stories of God’s faithfulness. His plans are always perfect.
Back long ago when the doctors told me I’d never be able to have children of my own, the impact of that didn’t quite hit me because that time seemed so far off. But as I get older, I can’t help but wonder and question what God’s plan is. Everything looks uncertain and don’t know how all his plans will unfold in my life.
One thing I do know from reading these stories. God knows EXACTLY what he’s doing. And the same rings true for my life as well.
We all have a story, or maybe multiple stories that make us who we are and exactly who God created us to be for reasons we may not always understand.

I'm not sure I knew that about you!!!! I'm so sorry - but know that you have a heart that knows Christ & knows that He has a plan for you.. & children are ALWAYS a possibility in many ways :)
Isnt it fun celebrating with bloggy friends on their adoption stories! It always makes me joyful for them & especially that child that has a FAMILY! :)
I know God has a plan for you....and I feel that it is a HUGE plan that has yet to begin to unfold. You are so precious to me and I love you friend! A fabulous mother you will be one day....no matter how that baby gets here.
Thank you for sharing your personal story. You are brave for stepping out and sharing. It takes courage. I am proud of you for knowing there is a MUCH bigger plan for you. It breaks my heart to think of all of the babies in this world who don't have a home or someone to call momma. At the same time though, it warms my heart to know that they all have hope with someone as caring as you. You will be an amazing mother to one very, VERY lucky little baby. Beautiful post today.
Lauren! I'm not sure if you remember me from like... two years ago when I last blogged on Show Me Your Way. But I'm jumping back in again with a new blog and trying to reconnect with my sweet bloggy friends :)
This post is beautiful. God knows exactly what he is doing, and knew your circumstances from the foundations of the world. I can't wait to see how his plans unfold for you and your future family. And I loved reading the adoption stories you posted! So exciting for those families :)
This is such a good post, Lauren! I didn't know about your struggle but I am SO confident that God has already written an amazing story for your life. I can't wait to watch it unfold! :)

Lauren, I had no idea. Thank you for being so honest about your journey. I agree with the previous commenter - God has a great story written out for your life and I can't wait to watch it unfold!
Wow Lauren...I didn't know this. You're an amazing woman and I can see how much you love your nieces so no matter how your family comes to be, you're going to be a great mom!! Praying for you :)
Wow, how amazing that He's already calling your heart toward His plan. I've finally started learning that this life isn't "one size fits all".
It will be awesome to see what God has in store for you.
I'm a big believer in the school of thought that we are all Moms...some of us are just waiting for our babies.
On A Mirror Has Two Faces, one of my favorite quotes was something along the lines of when you are given everything in life, you appreciate nothing.
Whenever God blesses you with a a child, that child will be blessed to have you as a mommy.
I really, really like this post. :)
I love bloggers who are honest, even when it clearly isn't easy to write about something so personal. :)
Lauren, I am a testament to the fact that if one door is close another is waiting to be opened. There are so many miraculous ways to build a family: biological children, adoption, foster parenting, even embryo adoption. And as for marriage you can always do what I did: Me as an infertile woman married a man who had fertility problems, too. Amazing that God put the two of us together only to discover that neither of us could have children biologically. But look at what he blessed us with! And I know he will do the same for you! Thank you for your openness and honesty.
