Terrific Thursday!

Hi! It’s a gloomy day in the good ole’ sunshine state today and we’re supposed to be getting rain. I want the beautiful sun that we saw yesterday, and we’re supposed to be getting another cold front this week as well. I don’t know about you but I really am ready for spring and summer to come.

So I had to share because I don’t know if anyone else is like this, but when it comes to any kind of service I might be getting and I’m not pleased with it, I have a really hard time speaking up for myself and I’ll just keep my mouth shut and deal with it. Well, last night my mom and I went to Cracker Barrel, and Wednesday they have their to-die-for Chicken and Broccoli dish. Seriously, try it, and you’ll live for Cracker Barrel on Wednesday, haha!! So, I was all excited about this, and yes, who knew that food could bring one person so much joy. So when I got my dish, I was disappointed because it was not hot at all and looked like it had been sitting there forever. I thought, no this isn’t happening, my joy was not going to be tarnished by cold food, so I toiled with the idea of sending it back. And I'm beginning to learn that you have to be confident and learn to speak up for yourself and so yes, I got up the nerve to send the food back and they sent me a whole new dish that was steaming hot and FANTASTIC!!!!! Not only that, they let me take the one I had to send back home with me and got to take my other leftovers from the second dish I received, so I had tons of leftovers, haha. Ask and you shall receive, right?? So, never be afraid to send things back, and in a polite way of course expect and ask for the service that you are paying for. Good lesson for me last night and I was proud of myself, ha :o)

And I got to watch American Idol last night. I’m proud of the picks for the top 12 so far and just let me say I was SOOOOOO happy Miss Drama Queen left, and I think you know exactly who I’m talking about, haha!!! This is going to be a GREAT season, I can already tell.

So at your request, here’s a picture of me with the braces (and the sores are already starting to form, haha)

Oooh braces. I remember when I had those in. It was awful for the first few days. The sores in my mouth made me want to tear then out. But I guess the end result was worth it.

I definately remember having my braces. My bottom braces actually tore some of the skin off the inside of my lip so I still have sores and I got mine off in 7th grade! What we go through for beauty ;-)

This post brought a smile to my face. When I read you went to Cracker Barrel on a Wed night my first thought was the Chicken and Broccoli special! Yes, my life revolved around food! ha Its so good!
I have to tell you my funny story about that Chicken Broccoli dish. My friend Laurie and I went one Wed night. We were interested in the Chicken/Broc special but didn't know what is was...stir fry? Casserole?
So, I asked...here is the conversation:
Me: Ma'am can you tell me about the Chicken/Broc special?
Waitress: Um..yeah :blank stare:
Me: Is it a stir fry? Casserole?
Waitress: Um..its like chicken...with some like broccoli..yeah, like you know Chicken with some Broccoli. (At this point she was looking at me like I was stupid!)

Laurie and I both ordered the Chicken with um like Broccoli and it was heavenly! We still laugh our heads off about that waitress!

Sorry for the long comment...but, it still cracks me up!

I hope your braces don't hurt too bad. Have a nice day!
