My night with Toby Mac!

Our local Christian radio station held a contest. I do volunteer work there and so they opened it up to a few select volunteers that they were going to pick to spend a night with Toby Mac. He was going to be at the studio talking about his new CD that came out, how the songs came about, and play some songs for us and just sharing his heart.

They said don’t sign up unless you know you’re going to be available Monday night. I knew I was going to be free because I didn’t have any school because of President’s Day. So I thought what the heck and signed up for the contest. You simply just had to submit your name and that was it. Easy enough.

I was extremely excited when I got the call yesterday that I was one of the one’s chosen. I signed up knowing I love Toby Mac’s music but didn’t know a whole lot about him personally so thought it would be neat to win. They said I could bring a guest with me so I quickly emailed my friend Samantha and she had the night free so she joined me for the evening!

Samantha and I.

Carrie (I've become good friends with her through volunteering with the station) and I.

I left with a free CD signed by him and a chance to meet him and get our picture taken with him. We didn't use our own cameras. The radio station took the pictures for us and they're going to email it to me. So I don't have one right now :( Also they had refreshments. A chocolate fountain, ummmmmm....hello!!! Yeah, thank you Jesus!!!

It was a nice surprise. Great evening. So much fun.

Overall, wonderful night :)

Oh my gosh Lauren...I'm drooling! (Ok, that's a little gross for a grown woman, but you get the idea!) I am slightly obsessed with Toby. I have been a huge fan since his days in DC Talk. I've been to pretty much every DC Talk concert. I've met Toby several times (I'm willing to bet he wouldn't remember me though! Ha!!). He is the most normal, gracious, and down to earth famous person I've met! He's gonna be at a christian book store here in ATL tomorrow but I can't go b/c it's during the day. Can't get off work :( Can't wait to see that picture though!

What a fun opportunity! I'm so glad they picked you. It's rare to meet a singer, much less have a photo taken and a CD signed. Very fun!!!

I am jealous. :) Toby Mac and David Crowder. I did get to see Casting Crowns last week, but I forgot my camera and my phone so no pictures.
