Weekend Recap, Recipes, and Decorations!

I still have pictures from last week I need to share with you and those will come... so I'm kind of backed up but right now just wanted to share pictures from the weekend with you.

Friday was rainy ALL DAY. After our office Christmas luncheon like I said, we had the whole rest of the day off. So I ran to Bed Bath & Beyond to pick up a shower gift for my BFF's wedding shower that I threw and spent about over an hour there because they took forever to wrap, but the wrapping is free so can't complain. Then I had to go to the grocery store to pick up all the ingredients for what I was going to make for the shower and it's fun trying to do all of this in the rain. And then I just went home and prepared what I needed to prepare food wise the night before and crashed while watching It's a Wonderful Life. Fell asleep so need to go back and watch it again, LOL! I'm so bad about falling asleep while watching movies. Anyone else like this?

So Saturday was the shower. My BFF had two showers and now the wedding celebration has come to a close, she's already been married for a month now, ha! So it was an extended celebration, lol.

The shower was absolutely beautiful. It was held at my BFF's mother-in-law's house. And it was beautifully decorated for Christmas so we didn't need to do decorations and the food was awesome, and it was a great time. These are the pictures I got...

How beautiful is the house and set up?

The adorable cupcakes!

The food table.

The party favors for people to take home!

The Broccoli Salad I brought.

Here's the recipe:
Red Onion
Shredded Cheese
Sunflowers
Bacon Pieces
Raisins
Broccoli

For Dressing mix:
1 cup mayo
2 tblsp of sugar
1 tblsp of vinegar

It is so delicious.

I also brought a 7-layer mexican dip which was a hit. Don't have a picture though :(

Cream cheese (layer the bottom of the pan with this).
1 can of kernel corn.
1 can of black beans
1 can of salsa (not too much, don't want to make it runny).
1 can of sliced olives.
1 can of chili (with or without meat)
Top with Shredded Cheese.

Sooooooo good!!!!!

The pretty tree.

The gifts.

I just thought my face was funny in this picture, ha!

Mel got me this bag. Sooo cute. I love it!

It was such a great time and turned out beautiful!!! :)

So last night I hit up Tar-Jay after my Dave Ramsey FPU class and did some damage. Obviously, you can see how much I'm learning in the class, ha! But in my defense I did do some Christmas shopping but I did find some Christmas decorations I wanted to share with ya. I fell in love with them...

It's finally starting to look like Christmas in my little humble abode!

And I have my little wreath up!

Last night I had my decorations up, my little tree lit with the lights off and my Christmas-scented candle going....

Felt so peaceful, ha!!

Hope ya'll had a good weekend! :)
