My thoughts on Miss America 2011

I have always, always loved the Miss America pageant.

I have always dreamed of being in a pageant.

What girl doesn't?

But then I watch Toddler's and Tiaras on tv, and oh my goodness.... then I'm so thankful at the age of 5 that I didn't have to endure eyebrow waxing.

I had the best night with my BFF last night watching the pageant.

Without further ado, here are some thoughts, strictly my opinion:

I'm pretty certain that Donald Trump is no longer the overseer of the Miss America Organization because if he saw the fiasco last night, he'd be telling someone "you're fired".

Swimsuit. Takes Guts. Enough said.

Not crazy about the remixes of the music.

The whole pageant felt totally rushed and unorganized.

Talent portion. Miss Arkansas. Puppets. Ventriloquism. Laughed my butt off.

I love Miss Delaware, but apparently she did a total number straight from the movie Center Stage in the talent portion.

Only one from the south made it to the semi-finals. Rip off!!

The pop-ups were annoying but comical during the talent portion.

Judge # 1....Cannot stand Joy Behar.

Had no clue there was a Miss Virgin Islands?!?!

I want their hair.

The girls make me want to fast for about a year.

"Here she comes, Miss America" song...... I always laugh because it's so cheesy but I still try to hold back tears!

I love the look of shock on the girls faces when they win. It's like they've been practicing it all their lives, ha!

The gowns, I die.... They all were a princess in their own right with the exception of a few who's gown choices were questionable.

Apparently no dressing rooms, as the girls were getting ready ON STAGE. ODD!!

I always wanted to do the interview portion, so I could cry out "World Peace"... What can I say, love the movie Miss Congeniality!

Ummm, the past pageant winners they brought back on. Talk about aging gracefully, or plastic surgery served them well. Whichever.

And with that said, congrats Miss Nebraska!

Next year Miss Florida, next year!!

I loved watching - I was dying during the ventriloquist! I think Donald Trump only owns Miss USA.

Aw, I didn't even know it was on! Dang it. But yes, I would have answered "world peace" also. Haha!! Love it. :)

It was SUCH a weird one. I felt like they were always running!

And the Trump owns Miss USA. I only know that bc a friend of mine who did pageants called Miss USA the runners-up of Miss America, bc the USA one doesn't have a talent portion. :)

I really don't know what I think about the pageant thing. It's the closest Americans have to acting like royalty and I appreciate that fact. I love sparkly tiaras, after all! But the whole thing is kind of cheesy, I agree. I didn't even know it was on or else I may have watched it, just to see how it was this year. :)

Trump was with Miss USA pageant, not Miss America. But I agree, it felt a little too rushed. I wish it was an hour longer or so and you got more info and more time. I think it's pretty crazy that Miss America is only 17! Ah! Talk about a life-changing moment!
