Me and the kitchen, we have issues!

Last night I was watching the Golden Globes.

This girl had a sweet tooth, so I decided I wanted to make cupcakes.

So I happily went about my way to satisfy my craving.

Everything was going well.

(I wasn't going for presentation here. I just wanted some sweetness.)

But things quickly took a turn for the worse, when I turned my eye for like one second, this is what I found.

A cupcake catastrophe. Clearly I will not be opening a cupcake shop anytime soon.

This is what happens when you are impatient and put the icing on before they cool.

The saying is true, if you can't take the heat, get out of the kitchen!

Hey, but in my defense.. I never claim to be Julia Child!

Have you had any mishaps in the kitchen lately? Humor me, please!

I would have taken a fork & scrapped it off & eaten all that icing anyways! :)

You heard about my edamame "POD" eating incident... mine's worse! :) Dont feel bad... you live & learn!

I saw your pic last night on twitter and got so tickled...I am so impatient in the kitchen too.

I could humor you with a story about a brisket I tried to make one time...but it was SO terrible that I would reather now :) LOL

Girl, I haven't even hardly touched anything in the kitchen except to clean bottles! :) I am afraid I have lost all culinary skills! haha!

Ha! I burn things in a crock pot! Aren't those supposed to be the easiest meals ever? I bet these still tasted good :)

Hahaah! That's too funny. Hey I'm sure that melted frosting tastes just as good as non-melted icing = )

HA! I'm sure they still tasted good. At least you weren't planning to serve them to others:) I totally did the other night, spent forever chopping/prepping/cooking a recipe from the Pioneer Woman (beef with snow peas). When it was just about done I had my husband (should have known it was a bad idea then) watch it for "just a few minutes" while I ran and did something. When I came back the snow peas were black. Ugh! We ate it anyway, haha!

Oh dear! That is totally something I would do. The kitchen and me, we totally don't get along.

I sometimes touch the heated bar in the oven w/my oven mits and they catch fire! It's happens more often than it probably should but it's always funny :)

Yeah, I tried to ice and stack a 2 layer cake before it cooled. Melt city! But still yummy! I wish I could eat every one of those cupcakes right now. YUM!

HAHA oh my Lauren. They still look yummy. :)
I have a humar kitchen story... I was baking a cake for my husband & my MIL said to use applesauce instead of oil bc it's healthier. So I used a whole bottle of applesause instead of using the amount of the oil on the box called for. When it turned out it was very gross & spongy. I'll never use apple sauce again. I seriously thougt she said use the whole bottle. haha. Hubby wasn't too happy. ;)
