This past weekend our family went for some BBQ at a little hole in the wall place.
Do y’all agree that those types of place are some of the BEST joints EVER.
It was called Four Rivers Smokehouse.
It’s not a very big place and it seems to be a popular one and so it’s always crowed and always a line.
It’s like a cafeteria set up when you go inside. They have a tray and you tell them all that you want and you pick it up at the end. There’s only outside eating and the atmosphere is just really neat.
This was my only second time there! And what I ordered this time I didn’t even see on the menu last time, and I decided I wanted to try something different.
What I ordered was wonderfully named “The Messy Pig” :) Ha!
Can you see why??? The picture just doesn’t do this goodness justice.
Y’all I had NO clue what I was missing out on. My life will never be the same.
It was pulled pork with cole slaw, pickles and jalapenos. And also not pictured was a side of fried okra and the most amazing corn EVER!!!!!!
I know this is a big thing in the south, but this is the first place I have come across in Florida that has offered this delicacy. Ha!
Have you ever tried BBQ and cole slaw before??? Or am I just way behind on this??? HA!!
And sadly these are the only pictures I captured of my BBQ epiphany!
But the memories, they shall stay on my heart forever!
I’m off to dream of some BBQ with cole slaw.
Mental note to self: Must.Go.Back.Soon :)

Oh yes, I've had BBQ and Cole Slaw. Our restaurants usually serve it on the side, so I always add it. Mmm...I bet jalapenos would be great on it as well!
Okay, you made me hungry. ;)
looks amazing!
So I have to day, that is a combo that I would never dream of putting together!! LOL But since you say it was so good, I might be inclined to try it. If I'm ever in FL. :)
I love BBQ too! And that sandwich looks so good!! :) I'm a new follower and I love your blog!
soooo funny, yes bbq and slaw is huge here. We have a hold in the wall joint at the bottom of the mountain that we enjoy going to. They are the best!
I'm glad you enjoyed it, but I don't know about BBQ and cole slaw. I just can't put my head around that one...
It's always the little, iffy, hole in the wall places that have the absolute best grub! And now my stomach is growling. ☺
OK, when you come, I must take you to Sticky Fingers. SO good! And yes...here in Chatt town, they serve bbq and slaw together! :)
Ha girl come up here to S.C & come get ya some good ole' Sweatman's BBQ!!! It will literally have ya crawling back for more. :) hehe
I Love BBQ, but you got to find the right place for the good stuff.
