Prayers for my Gramps!

Last night was a long and emotionally draining night. My Grandpa landed in the ICU! Not looking good at all. Please pray for strength for my family! My gramps can hear us but cannot communicate. Its just a matter of time! Most likely sometime over the weekend he'll pass on, but he's hanging on! Seeing my 27 year old brother cry was enough to break my heart!

I would love nothing more than for him to improve but right now I just want him to be pain free, and I kept telling him, even though he couldn't communicate, I kept telling him, you have fought a good fight, and if you have to leave, that's okay, just let go.... because you can just tell he's fighting this to the finish. His birthday is this Sunday!!

(I took this picture of our hands when I went to go visit him a few months ago, and so glad I did).

I was holding his hand practically the whole time we were at the hospital, and if I would try to let go, he would grab it even tighter. The pastor came and prayed with us, it was a beautiful moment.

My grandma having to sign that do not resuscitate form had to have been the hardest thing she's ever had to do. He just has no quality of life right now, and I just say Jesus take him home.... My grandpa knows where he's going and he will be in such a better place.

Thank you for the prayers!!

Praying for your Gramps Lauren. I am praying for a peaceful passing and for understanding and kindness from the nurses and doctos and for strength for your family. I love you. Please let me know if there is anything that I can do for you. I am working tomorrow during the day, so please let me know if you need something while I am there.

I know we've already communicated today, but I was finally able to bring myself to read this.

As I sit here sobbing...knowing how you're feeling...I'm just so thankful that you are able to be with him right now.

I still LOVE, LOVE, LOVE that picture of your hands. It is incredible and I know you will treasure that. :) What a blessing.

Please keep me posted or let me know if you need anything. I can't promise that I won't cry with you, but I can definitely promise that I'll be there for you no matter what.

Praying hard and sending lots of love and hugs!

Oh Lauren, my heart breaks for you. I am praying for your Gramps to have the most peaceful time possible over the next few days, and for you and your family to find the strength to get through this that only God can give.

The bond between a grandfather/granddaughter is a close one, and it sounds like you and your Gramps love each other so much. That picture of your hands is just beautiful.

I've walked the same road with my own grandpa, and these ending stages bring such a crazy mix of emotions... it's heartbreaking to lose him, but at the same time you want to shout for joy for him to be meeting Jesus.

I'll be saying some extra prayers for you tonight, sweetie!

I'm reading your post backwards, with this one being the last one I read before you stating he passed.

This was such a sweet post and I love the picture of you holding your grandfathers hand! Such a sweet memory! It's good to see you were close to your grandfather. It seems as if you really looked up to him. Your are in my prayers. ♥
