Reshaping it all.

Yesterday on the way home from work I picked up a book that I’m really really excited to read. I wanted to share with you.

Take about 3 minutes of your time and watch this.

I think this is going to be a really great read. It’s great motivation for physical and spiritual fitness.

I think as women we ALL compare ourselves to other women. I think we all want to become a size 0 or size 2 so we can measure up to the woman standing next to us. We don’t take care of our bodies for us but a lot of the times it’s because the world tells us we have to be skinnier to be prettier.

I think this book really challenges us to see ourselves through God’s eyes and not through our size. And how putting God first really does affect every area of our lives and how we view ourselves and this book is written with the goal to help reshape all areas of our lives spiritually and when it comes to food and how we treat and view our bodies.

I think every woman should read this book and I haven’t even opened it up yet, ha!

I’m a size 6. I’ll be honest I don’t feel 100% comfortable in a bathing suit. I’ve always had self-esteem issues when it comes to my body. Some things I was able to wear even a year ago, I can’t anymore. I’m an emotional eater and don’t think twice about what I’m putting into my body. And how many of you can say the same?

I’m not writing all this to talk about weight or what size we are….. But we all want to feel comfortable in our own skin. It’s just so important, especially us as women and playing the comparison game, that when we look in the mirror, what do we see? Is our first thought “Yep, still not skinny as so and so….” or do we think “I’m beautiful and fearfully and wonderfully made”. Are we remembering the truth of God’s word or believing the lies of the enemy.

I realize that we have a part to play too. I don’t think a lot of us, including myself, consciously think about how we view our bodies and that it’s a temple of God, and it’s so so important how we are feeding ourselves spiritually. Plays a HUGE part.

Anyway, getting on a tangent here.

But I’ve had the opportunity to meet Candace Cameron Bure. She’s phenomenal. Who doesn't love DJ? Ha! (and wow, how different do I look?? lol).

I’m so looking forward to Reshaping it all.

I have also struggled with weight and body image issues! Before I had my son I was very petite and when I was pregnant I developed pre-eclampsia/toxemia. I spent most of my time on bedrest and I gained a lot of weight. It has taken me years to get down to the size I am now, but I still have about 20lbs I would like to lose so that I can feel comfortable with myself. I've also had a lot of issues with sinus/tmj and it has changed my facial features a bit. No one else notices it, but I do everytime I look in the mirror. It might seem like a very small thing, but to me, it has been a HUGE thing for me to deal with. That is so cool that you got to meet Candace! She is so beautiful inside and out and such an inspiration. Good luck with your journey, I'm confident that you WILL do it! =)

It has some great recipes in it :)

I wanted to say thank you for this post. I can't tell you how I came across it...perhaps God knew I needed it. I clicked over to Candace's website and listened to her testimony and it was exactly what I needed to hear when I needed to hear it.
