Hogwarts Smogwarts

That's what I say.....

I could care less about Harry Potter. Have ZERO interest. I have not read one book or watched one movie. I thought I was all alone in my disinterest, but took it to Facebook and Twitter...Oh, and I am so not.

Someone, PLEASE enlighten me! I just don't get the hype.

Feel free to talk amongst yourselves!!

PS: I had to laugh because after I posted this I had Hogsworth Smogsworth in the title of this post (has been changed), and apparently it is Hogwart. I stand corrected, lol!! Shows my love for HP goes far and wide, LOL!!!

I agree. It's way too sci-fi "Lord of the Ringish" for me! Twilight I like, but it is more of a love story so it draws me in. :)

BOO! I love it!

But seriously, I was like you at first. When I first met Dustin, he talked me into watching the first 2 movies and then I was hooked and went back and read all the books. At first, I was uninterested because I didn't think I could get into books about wizard kids. I was actually the same way with the Twilight series at first too. Ha!

I have NEVER EVER watched a movie or read one book... So I am with you! I just don't get it... But I can't say much cause I love me some Twilight! =)

See, now I can't get in to Twilight, but I ADORE Harry Potter. The husband and I both loved the books, so now we have even more fun at the movies! :-) The writing is great - and it does transport you a little "out of this world" but in a way that I love!!!

Girl I'm on the same page as you...my sister and my boyfriend think it's blasphemy that I haven't read/watched all of the HPs. Maybe I'll get into it one day...but I just don't get it.

HAHA! Yes our posts are very different today, but I still like your opinion = ) I know I'm a big nerd about this. I know the feeling of not getting it, because I don't get those Twilight movies, but people go nuts for those too.

I am no longer your friend. Boo to you. You have missed out on a wonderful book and movie series. Boo!

If I explain Harry Potter, will you explain chick flicks? ;D We all have our things.

I resisted the hype for a LONG time. I think there were 5 books out when I finally decided to give the first movie a shot. And I liked it. So I watched the second. And read the books. By book 3, I was hooked. I saw a midnight show of the last movie, and I cheered and cried with everyone else. So I guess I'm a nerd. I don't care.

In the end, there's a lot more to it than wizard school kids... it's a beautiful story about self-sacrifice and love destroying death and evil. Seriously.

This is a really lovely blog post that explains why some of us love it. There may or may not be one on my blog along similar lines (though not nearly as eloquent!)

This is also probably more than you wanted, but you asked for someone to explain! =) I don't expect everyone to like it or understand, but I could go on for pages about why I do... um, I kind of just did. Sorry!

(PS: I also gave into the Twilight hype. The second book made me angry, so I quit reading. I guess I'm banned from commenting on this blog ever again now.... =)

I am so with you! I often think it's just me :) I haven't seen any of the movies nor read any of the books. My sister gave my son all of the books right before she died but he's only five so we haven't gone there yet. I suppose I'll know more about the hype once he starts reading them...

I did walk through the HP stuff at Universal, ha!

I have no desire to read any of the books or see any of the movies and I feel the same about Twilight! I just don't get all the hype either!

I'm like you! I have no interest in Harry Potter movies or books. I've only watched the 1st one and it was much later than when it even came out. Same goes for Twilight. No desire & just don't get the hype.
