Need a break in a major way!

Hope everyone had a wonderful weekend!

I’ve come to the decision that I am going to be taking a break from the blog for the month of March.

I desperately need it.

I VERY much need it.

And to be honest, it’s going to be very hard for me. And I’m ashamed to say probably harder than it ought to be.

I want to loosen my grip from this a little and stop holding on to it so tightly.

I have so many priorities in my life that fall by the wayside because of my focus on this blog and want to get my priorities back on the straight and narrow. This is something I’ve really struggled with ever since I started this blog back in 2008, as I’m sure many of you others have as well.

I was sitting in church by myself last night and really felt the Lord calling me to give this up for awhile. So just wanted to let ya’ll know so you didn’t think I had fallen off the face of the earth, and also to give myself some accountability during this month.

I’ll leave you with this song we sang at church last night. Blessed me to the core.

I see the king of glory
Coming on the clouds with fire
The whole earth shakes
The whole earth shakes

I see his love and mercy
Washing over all our sin
The people sing
The people sing

Hosanna in the highest x2

I see a generation
Rising up to take their place
With selfless faith
With selfless faith

I see a near revival
Stirring as we pray and seek
We're on our knees
We're on our knees

Heal my heart and make it clean
Open up my eyes to the things unseen
Show me how to love like you have loved me

Break my heart from what breaks yours
Everything I am for your kingdoms cause
As I go from earth to

[Chorus] x2

Hosanna in the highest

Lord, as I take this time to sit at your feet and be still, my prayer is that you would open my eyes to those things unseen, do a work in my heart and break it for those things that break yours. Take apart piece by piece those things in my life which need to go. Allow me to sacrifice so that I can draw nearer to you and hear your voice more clearly. Mold and shape me into the woman of God you are calling me to be because all of this is preparation for eternity and how I long for eternity. This life is so tough God and you know that, but your strengths are made perfect in our weakness. Love you for all the simple ways each day that you are showing me who you are, and who I am in you. There’s no greater love than the love you lavish on us, and you in return deserve nothing but my best, and my best is what I will give you.

See you in April. Love ya’ll!

Love that song so much! The lyrics are so powerful.

I can completely relate. I know that you will be blessed immensely by this focused time alone with Him.

Praying it is a very fruitful time with your Abba!

Lauren, I'm JUST now reading this and yet we must be thinking the same thing. I posted about this very thing (you did it much more beautifully and succinctly I might add!) just a little while ago.

Oh, I completely understand. I've been on an "unofficial" blog break myself. It's crazy how much time we spend on the computer these days. Enjoy your break. We'll miss you in blogland.

I'm with ya, girl. I found myself trying too hard to keep up with posts and readings and I just decided to blog and read less. Just write about my life and kids and let it be, whether it's interesting or not. Have a lovely break!
