Only in a small town...

One thing that is undeniable about the town I live in is the small town feel. A matter of fact, it makes me want to break into the "Cheers" song.....

Making your way in the world today takes everything you've got. Taking a break from all your worries, sure would help a lot. Wouldn't you like to get away? Sometimes you want to go Where everybody knows your name, and they're always glad you came. You wanna be where you can see, our troubles are all the same You wanna be where everybody knows Your name. You wanna go where people know, people are all the same, You wanna go where everybody knows your name.

This was never made more real to me then last Friday. I was on my lunch break and went to the bank and pulled up and put my money in and sat there for a few seconds and then looked over, and what do you know, my gynecologist is in the next car over. Rolls down the window and we start talking and chatting away.

Awkward? Not.At.All

And as she drove away, I thought only in a small town could you have a conversation with your gynecologist while waiting at the bank.

As much as I want to to break out of this town, there really is something comforting about being in a place where everybody knows your name!

That's funny about the gyno.. that's always awkward seeing them in "normal" situations..

but yeah, thats why I LOVE my small church & small town... sometime about everyone knowing you & you knowing them..

Ha! Too funny!

My hometown is too small to have both a banker and a doctor ... they stuck with the bank and no doctors. My hometown has 1000 people and it means you know everyone and all of their business!

So funny! I could totally have a conversation like that with my ob/gyn. She's become a friend, although it is strange when were chatting during an exam!

This is tooooo funny!
I'm from "small town America" too, and have a love-hate relationship about it. When I left home, I swore I'd never move back, and now that I have kiddos of my own, I'd love nothing more than to live in a small town again!
Enjoy it!
