Family

It's true when they say you can't pick your family. And I mean that in the nicest way possible.

I know I said the rest of the weekend pics were to come, but I just have to get this out and I feel safe doing it here. So bare with me.

There's some family drama going on in my world that I've somehow managed to get in the middle of...and I hate it, absolutely hate it. And I know hate is a strong word but that's how I feel right now. I'm stuck between a rock and a hard place.

I love my family, but it's also true that words from family are one's that can sting the most.

I am in no way speaking of my immediate family, and without going into detail, please just be covering this in prayer. I'm trying to take the high road, and sometimes that's not always easy to do when every part of you wants to fight back.

I'm confused, hurt, angry, and so much more. And I know God will work all this out. Sometimes things are just better left unsaid, and so that's where I'm leaving it for the time being and giving it to God, and like I said trying to be the better person.

Just kind of need some widsom on this one, could you please pray for that?

*Praying*
I totally get it. I've become a little distant to some of my family just b/c of the drama was too much for me. Sometimes you have to know when to cut ties. Hoping it gets worked out.

I'm so sorry you are going through this. I will definitely keep you in my prayers.

I think sometimes this is one of the really sucky parts of growing up.... you start to get caught up in the family dynamics. Before, when you're a kid, you're either unaware or kept out of the drama. Then, as everyone starts to slowly see you as an adult, you become part of the fold, somehow.

I'll pray for you!

Like Rosie, I know that sometimes you have to cut ties because you can't make decisions for other people, or open their hearts. The healthiest thing is to pray for them to be blessed. And if necessary, step away with forgiveness. Meanwhile, I'll be remembering you in prayer.

Sorry you're going through this... I think we all do at times in our life. If there's one thing I know for sure about you, Lauren, is that you have much wisdom for your age. I have no doubt that God will see you through this.

Popped over from Boo's blog and now I know why: I get sucked into these things with my family and it drives me crazy. As I am getting older I am finally learning to set boundaries in my relationships with some of them. I pray for quick resolve and for the wisdom to be the light that is needed in the lives of those around you.
God Bless,
